It’s Official: Bruins Acquire Jagr For Prospects And Pick

BOSTON (CBS) – Rest assure Bruins fans, this one is for real.

The Boston Bruins have acquired forward Jaromir Jagr from the Dallas Stars for Lane MacDemid, Cody Payne and a conditional second round draft pick, the Stars announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Bruins announce the deal shortly after, noting Jagr will wear #68 and is scheduled to join the team on Wednesday.

The 41-year-old Jagr scored 14 goals to go with 12 assists in 34 games for Dallas this season. Though those numbers aren’t eye-popping, on the Bruins he would be tied for the team lead in goals and fourth in points.

In addition to Pittsburgh and Dallas, Jagr made stops in Washington, New York and Philadelphia during his career.

Jagr was drafted fifth overall in the 1990 NHL Draft.
