BOSTON (CBS) – Rest assure Bruins fans, this one is for real.

The Boston Bruins have acquired forward Jaromir Jagr from the Dallas Stars for Lane MacDemid, Cody Payne and a conditional second round draft pick, the Stars announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Bruins announce the deal shortly after, noting Jagr will wear #68 and is scheduled to join the team on Wednesday.

The 41-year-old Jagr scored 14 goals to go with 12 assists in 34 games for Dallas this season. Though those numbers aren’t eye-popping, on the Bruins he would be tied for the team lead in goals and fourth in points.

Jagr also has six power play goals this season. As a team, the Bruins have scored 14 times with the man advantage.

With the deal, Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli has landed the scoring and depth he wanted to add by Wednesday’s 3 p.m. NHL trade deadline, but leaves him still looking for another defenseman.

An 18-year veteran, Jagr has 679 career goals and 1,000 career assists to his name. In 180 career playoff games, the winger has racked up 78 goals and 111 assist, winning two Stanley Cups during his time with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

In addition to Pittsburgh and Dallas, Jagr made stops in Washington, New York and Philadelphia during his career.

Jagr was drafted fifth overall in the 1990 NHL Draft.
