BOSTON (CBS) – A clerk at an East Boston store says he was pistol whipped and robbed by two men Saturday afternoon.

Police responded to the Pericol Gift Store on Bennington Street shortly after 2:30pm. The victim says two men wearing dark clothing and black masks walked into the store, and he thought they were friends playing a prank until they displayed a gun.

The suspects took the victim into the back room where they attempted to handcuff him with flex cuffs. He says that when he resisted, they pistol whipped him.

The suspects smashed glass cases and stole an unknown amount of jewelry.

The victim was taken to Tufts Medical Center with non-life threatening injures. Police are investigating.
