Refreshed: 2014 Hyundai Equus At The New York Auto Show

Hours in advance of Hyundai's New York Auto Show press conference, the automaker pulled the wraps off the refreshed 2014 Hyundai Equus. And we were there to snap a gallery of first photos of this, the brand's largest luxury sedan.

What do we see from this first glimpse? Quite simply, that instead of looking a bit too much like a foreign-market executive car, the Equus has grown up to look more like a rakish, smoothly styled big brother to the Azera and Genesis. LED adaptive headlights, and LED taillamps, plus new wheel and paint choices make the look entirely fresh.

As we reported earlier in the month, when the some Korean-spec details were revealed, the latest Equus is expected to keep its current engine, a 429-horsepower, 5.0-liter Tau V-8, although it'll get a dramatically redesigned and restyled interior to match the revamped exterior styling. Expect TFT LCD gauges, a new 9.2-inch center dash display, an all-new smart key system, and better perforated leather upholstery.
