BOSTON (CBS) – The New England Patriots have re-signed right tackle Sebastian Vollmer, according to a report by ESPNBoston’s Field Yates.

The 28-year-old Vollmer has played 51 regular season games with the Patriots since being selected in the second round of the 2009 NFL draft. He played all but one game last season, playing a pivotal role in protecting quarterback Tom Brady and allowing running back Stevan Rildey to rush for over 1,200 yards.

Vollmer’s return means the Patriots offensive line will remain intact, with Vollmer lining up next to 2012 linemates Ryan Wendell, Dan Connolly,Logan Mankins and Nate Solder.

The Patriots will announce the four-year deal with Vollmer on Monday, according to the Boston Herald’s Karen Guregian.
