Two Arrested For Bad Dancing; May Have Been Doing The Harlem Shake

LAWRENCE (CBS) - Two young men in Lawrence are facing charges for disorderly conduct; their alleged crime was bad dancing.

According to the Eagle Tribune, police showed up at the South Lawrence East School on Thursday to try and disperse a group of 50 young people after receiving complaints about the group.

When officers ordered the group to leave the area, they say a couple of young men started dancing.

According to the Eagle Tribune, the police report stated that the officers were unable to determine whether the men were attempting to do the "Harlem Shake" or the "Dougie."

Either way, the two alleged dancers, Shamal Nelson, 20, and Demarius Mckeithen, 19, were both arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

A third person, Andre Thomas, 17, was also charged with disorderly conduct after police say he tried to block one of the officers from arresting Nelson.
