Joseph Maloof allegedly broke into the home of an off duty Arlington Police officer.
ARLINGTON (CBS) – Police in Arlington arrested a man who allegedly broke into the home of an off-duty officer Tuesday afternoon.
The suspect, 31-year-old Joseph Maloof of Arlington, was armed with a baseball bat when the officer confronted him with his service weapon. The suspect fled the scene.
Maloof was arrested after a foot chase with the off-duty officer and other Arlington Police officers who responded.
“This suspect allegedly victimized a highly trained and highly motivated Arlington Police Officer,” said Chief Frederick Ryan. “We are pleased we took the suspect into custody without further incident.”
Police say Maloof was unaware that a police officer lived in the home.
