COHASSET (CBS) – Gallon smashing has come to supermarkets in Massachusetts. It’s a prank where someone throws milk or juice onto the floor and pretends fall, stunning other shoppers.
Stores are losing money and now police are losing patience.
“Kids want to have fun,” says Cohasset Police Lt. Greg Lennon, “but once it starts involving destroying other people’s property or endangering the public then we draw the line.”
Gallon smashing incidents have been reported in Salem, Brockton, Cohasset, Burlington and Taunton.
If caught, police say the kids could face several criminal charges.
