NANTUCKET (CBS) -David Fronzuto, emergency management director for the island says this winter’s storms have led to the destruction of four or five multi-million-dollar homes.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Carl Stevens reports

Fronzuto says five other homes are now on cribbing, waiting to be moved further inland.

He also says they’re glad the heart of the coming storm, thankfully, looks like it will miss them on Nantucket.

“These people are being proactive to keep it from going onto the beach and making a mess,” Fronzuto told WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Carl Stevens. “But not everyone has the financial means to buy another piece of property and move these houses.”

On Baxter Road, Fronzuto says one of the homes in jeopardy is worth several million dollars.
