Attleboro Teen To Be Tried As Adult In Attack On Neighbor

NEW BEDFORD (AP) — The Bristol district attorney says charges against a 15-year-old Attleboro boy accused of attacking his 63-year-old neighbor will be handled as an adult case.

District Attorney Sam Sutter said Friday that Brandon Bonin has been indicted on charges including home invasion, kidnapping and attempted murder under the state's Youthful Offender law. The case will be heard in open juvenile court.

Bonin is accused of breaking into his neighbor's house March 6. Police said he kicked and stabbed her in the neck, tied her up and drove her to a pond where he pushed her into the water. Police said Bonin took her out of the water and drove to a different location, when she got control of the car and drove for help. She is recovering.

Bonin faces a dangerousness hearing Monday in Fall River.
