Woman Found Dead In New Bedford Home

NEW BEDFORD (AP) — The Bristol district attorney's office says the death of a 35-year-old New Bedford woman found in her apartment is being investigated as a homicide.

A spokesman for the district attorney says Tiffany Ann Durfee was found dead by a relative at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The body has been handed over to the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.

Anyone with information about her death or who may have seen anything suspicious in her neighborhood on Tuesday or Wednesday is asked to call New Bedford police.

A neighbor told The Standard-Times that Durfee lived in the apartment with her three children and had moved in less than a year ago.

If the death is ruled a homicide, it would be the city's third this year, and the second in less than a week.
