BOSTON (CBS) — As the schedule gets busier and busier for the Bruins, the injuries are starting to pile up.
Head coach Claude Julien announced Thursday morning that defenseman Adam McQuaid will not play against the Panthers, due to an undisclosed injury. He’s considered day-to-day.
Aaron Johnson will skate in McQuaid’s place on Thursday night against Florida. Johnson, 29, has played in four games for Boston this season without registering a point and posting a minus-2 rating.
McQuaid has played in 22 games this season, scoring once and assisting on three others, and he’s second on the team with 40 penalty minutes. He skated 14:19 on Tuesday in Pittsburgh, which is right around his average for the season.
