It’s been seven months since Ortiz first suffered an Achilles injury on July 16. After spending some time on the DL he returned to play on August 24, but re-injured the Achilles and was forced to sit out the remainder of the season.

The DH participated in light base running drills in spring training, but not much else and now it looks like another injury will have Ortiz taking some time off. Over the weekend Ortiz underwent MRI tests that revealed some inflammation

Zo and Mike Flynn discussed the latest injury setback with Red Sox DH. If Ortiz isn’t the starting DH this season who will the Sox plug in?

Should the Red Sox be expected to put out a better team given their high payroll?
