NightSide - Joan Vennochi Discusses A New Yahoo Policy On Telecommuting

BOSTON (CBS) - Women everywhere were excited when Marissa Mayer broke through the glass ceiling and was named CEO of the major tech company Yahoo. But so far, Mayer's policies have not been the family-friendly type that many were hoping to see. Mayer first made headlines when she took a two week maternity leave, back at work long before her newborn's first month checkup. Now, she is taking a stand against Yahoo's policy of allowing telecommuting, or working from home. All employees must be back at their desks by June 1st or seek employment elsewhere. Boston Globe columnist Joan Vennochi is in studio to talk about whether Mayer's achievements have been a win for working women, or simply a new face on the same old policies.

Originally broadcast February 28th, 2013.
