There’s still a lot of uncertainty about the future of free agent wide receiver Wes Welker. Some reports have Welker and the Patriots close to inking a multi-year deal, while others say that receiver has no plans to re-sign with New England before first testing the free-agent market.

Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald joined 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Toucher & Rich to discuss how the situation with Welker could end up.

Is Welker really going to test the free agency market? Why would he deny himself the opportunity to test the market and just sign a deal with the Patriots?

There are probably many teams that would love to have a receiver like Welker on their roster, but what teams are in the best place to offer Wes the best deal? What’s the realistic market value for Welker on the open market and how possible is it that the Pats are ready to move on from him?
