SALEM (AP) — Three people are scheduled to appear in Salem Superior Court to face charges in connection with a hit-and-run more than six years ago that took the lives of two people.
The Essex district attorney’s office says Michael Tranchita Jr. and his father, Michael Tranchita Sr. both of Winchester, and Lisa Cutting of Revere, are expected to be arraigned Monday on charges of conspiracy and misleading investigators.
They are charged in connection with the January 2007 deaths of Tina Tello and Christopher Zullo.
Prosecutors say Tello and Zullo were struck by a vehicle as they tried to cross Route 1 in Saugus late at night. They were not in an area designated for pedestrians. Tello died at the scene and Zullo died at a hospital two days later.
