Barnstable Police Arrest Man For Secretly Filming Women In Tanning Booth

BARNSTABLE (CBS) - A 47-year-old Mashpee man is under arrest after police say he used his cell phone to film women tanning at a local salon without their knowledge.

Barnstable Police arrested Luis C. Macedo, 47, and charged him with two counts of secretly video taping a nude person.

The Cape Cod Times reports, Macedo worked the front desk of Sunsational Tanning in Hyannis.

A 29-year-old woman told Barnstable police she believed she was taped when she saw a camera lens beneath her feet in a tanning booth.

According to police, the room had a blacked out window with a small peephole covered by an advertisement. When lifted, Macedo had a clear view of the room, police said.

The Cape Cod Times reports Macedo told police he videotaped women through the hole and underneath the booth's floorboards.

Police say they found 21 videos on his cell phone.

More charges may be filed if additional victims come forward, police said.

Macedo is being held on $1,000 bail. He is expected to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Monday.
