Thieves Walk Into Unlocked Groveland Home; Steal Guns, Ammo
GROVELAND (CBS) – Five handguns and 400 rounds of ammunition were stolen from a home on School Street in Groveland Wednesday.
Police say burglars broke into the house during the day while the homeowners were at work.
The stolen guns, which were all legally owned, were identified as being a .45 cal. Semiautomatic Smith and Wesson, a .357 cal. Colt revolver, a 9 mm semiautomatic Berretta and two .22-cal. Luger semi-automatics.
The thieves also reportedly took jewelry from the home. They got into the house through an unlocked door.
Police call the incident isolated, saying there have not been any other break-ins reported in the area.
