TEWKSBURY (CBS) – The New England Shooter’s Warehouse was busy all day with patrons for its grand opening on Friday.
The new store’s owner says the crowds are hardly unusual, and that most other gun stores in the area are in the same position.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Carl Stevens reports
Since the mass shooting at a Newtown, Connecticut elementary school, the discussion over gun control measures has gained a lot of national attention. With that discussion has come a surge in gun sales.
Don Florence, co-owner of New England Shooter’s Warehouse welcomes the discussion along with the surge in sales.
“I believe that we should have strong, strong restrictions on who can own or buy a weapon,” Florence said. “But we only sell to people who would meet those conditions.”
Florence says that because of the surge in sales, his biggest hurdle is going to be keeping enough guns in stock.
