BOSTON (CBS) – You can now add Fab Melo to the list of Celtics being mentioned in trade rumors.
According to Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski, the Celtics have made Melo available as they search for some more guard depth leading up to Thursday’s 3 p.m. NBA trade deadline.
In pursuit of guard help, the Celtics have made rookie center Fab Melo available in trade offers, league sources tell Y! Sports.—

The 7-0 center was drafted 22nd overall out of Syracuse last June as a project pick for Boston. He spent most of his time this season with the Maine Red Claws in the NBADL, and has played just eight minutes for the Celtics.

Shopping Melo is a little different from the other moves Boston has been rumored to be involved in. While most deals have them shipping Kevin Garnett and/or Paul Pierce out-of-town to begin the rebuilding process, shopping Melo is a sign they are looking to improve their current club.

The Celtics signed swingman Terrence Williams earlier this week, but are still looking for more depth at guard after losing both Rajon Rondo and Leandro Barbosa for the remainer of the season to ACL injuries.
