CHELSEA (CBS) – More than 100 people were evacuated due to a gas leak in Chelsea Monday night.

The origin of the leak was on Cherry Street, but residents in the 200 block of Broadway could smell gas in their homes and called police.

Those who evacuated were placed on MBTA buses to keep warm.

National Grid responded, and the leak was repaired by 10 p.m.
