Police: MBTA Employee Fired Gun, Pointed It At Officers In Nashua, NH

NASHUA, NH (CBS) - An MBTA employee who has been on administrative leave since December is behind bars for allegedly firing a gun inside a Nashua, New Hampshire hotel room while police officers were there and pointing the weapon at those officers.

Gary McKeon of Billerica was arrested Thursday night in that hotel room. Officers showed up at the room for a well-being check after McKeon's family and friends had told them that he had been making threatening and suicidal comments.

McKeon, who was reportedly drunk, fired the gun four times, according to police.

He's also accused of pointing a gun at members of the Nashua Police Departments Special Reaction Team.

Officers were eventually able to get him into custody. No one was hurt.

He faces charges for reckless conduct, and criminal threatening.

The MBTA did not indicate why McKeon has been on leave.
