BOSTON (CBS) – The former director of the Chelsea Housing Authority will plead guilty to charges that he falsely reported his salary.

Investigators alleged that in 2011, 67-year-old Michael McLaughlin reported that his annual salary was $160,000 when he knew his actual salary was at least $283,000.

He resigned from the position in 2011.

McLauglin faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.

As part of McLaughlin’s guilty plea, he must agree to testify at any future trials or before any grand jury. If McLaughlin assists in the prosecution of another person, a lower sentence will be recommended.
