BOSTON (CBS) – Gov. Deval Patrick thanked MBTA workers in Southie for their hard work through the blizzard and its aftermath.
Patrick and Davey met with workers at MBTA Headquarters Wednesday morning.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Carl Stevens reports
“We’re going to do everything we can so that they have the resources not just to run the system we have today, but to run a 21st century system,” Patrick said. “That’s what the budget conversation and debate is about. Until then, we’re going to support their good work because they support all the rest of us.”
Service was down from Friday afternoon until Sunday.
During that time, crews spent time clearing the tracks and shoveling out stations.
Patrick said it was the workers who were out in the elements who got the system back up and running.
