Bruins Game Against Lightning Canceled

BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston Bruins will not play the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday, as scheduled.

After most communities across the state were hit by more than two feet of snow, travel conditions were too dangerous for fans and staff to make it to the TD Garden.

The canceled game will provide the team a rare day off in the NHL’s post-lockout schedule.

Their rest will be brief, of course, as the Bruins are scheduled to hit the road to take on the Buffalo Sabres tomorrow.

A make-up date for the Tampa Bay game will be announced as soon as it can be confirmed.
