WEYMOUTH (CBS) – A Weymouth man charged with killing his father was ordered held without bail Tuesday.
Michael Beaudry, 20, pleaded not guilty to murder in Quincy District Court in the beating death of his father Ronald Beaudry, 58, Monday.
Prosecutors say the two had an argument at their Weymouth home and that Michael hit his father in the head with a PVC pipe.
Police found Ronald Beaudry with a severe head wound. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Prosecutors say Beaudry confessed to police on a videotape that he assaulted his father.
Beaudry was heard screaming, ‘I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it’ as his father was taken away from the scene.
In court Tuesday, Beaudry’s attorney said he believes this is a case of manslaughter, not murder.
