PEABODY (CBS) – An elderly man is recovering at Mass General Hospital after being hit by a car while crossing the street in Peabody.

Police say the 87-year-old victim was in the crosswalk when he was hit. He had just left St. Adelaide Parish on Lowell St.

The driver stopped and spoke to police in order to figure out what caused the accident.
