Tom Brady Fined $10K For Leg-Up Slide Against Ravens

BOSTON (CBS) – The NFL has fined Patriots quarterback Tom Brady $10,000 for "unnecessary roughness" in Sunday's AFC Championship game.

In the final minute of the second quarter, Brady slid to the ground with his foot up, kicking Ravens safety Ed Reed in the right leg. Brady was not penalized for the play during the game.

Reed said Brady apologized to him on the phone after the game.

Reed's teammate, Bernard Pollard, called for Brady to be punished after the game Sunday.

Baltimore beat New England 28-13 to advance to the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers.
