WOBURN (CBS) – A federal raid was underway at a company in Woburn on Wednesday morning.
Numerous federal agencies, along with state and local police swarmed the building at 15 Presidential Way.
The company that operates out of that building is called Agiltron, and appears to be a fiber optics company. Agiltron’s CEO, Jing Zhao, is a naturalized U.S. citizen from China.
Authorities were not publicly offering up any details about the operation.
However, sources told CBS News that the raid had something to do with exporting of technology. WBZ-TV has learned that Agiltron has many contracts with the U.S. government and handles some sensitive technology.
The raid was not related to immigration.
Officials were collecting evidence, but no arrests were expected to happen on Wednesday.
