A Stoughton man died in an Amherst fire
AMHERST (CBS) – The 21-year-old UMass student killed in a fire on Monday was from Stoughton.
James Hoffman, who also went by Jake, was a senior at UMass Amherst and a graduate of Stoughton High School.
On Monday morning, Hoffman was killed when a fire broke out in his off-campus apartment building.
Fire officials believe the fire started in Hoffman’s apartment, but they do not know the cause.
The Rolling Green apartment complex housed about 32 people, including 22 UMass students.
