Sgt. Jim Bruce told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 the suspect or suspects are leaving electronics behind and instead, stealing jewelry.

Bruce believes they may be trying to fund a drug habit.

Police are telling residents to keep an eye out.

"A lot of times you get people that say they were going to call you; I saw a guy walking or a car parked in a strange spot that's never been there, and they don't call. Later on, the people come home and find out the house has been broken into," Bruce said.

"The more eyes the better. We always tell people if you think something's not right, call us right away."
