Jewelry Stolen In Midday Home Break-Ins In Northboro

NORTHBORO (CBS) – A series of midday home break-ins has Northboro police warning residents to be on the alert.

There have been a half-dozen robberies in broad daylight in the past few weeks. Most have happened between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. while residents are at work.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Lana Jones reports

Sgt. Jim Bruce told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 the suspect or suspects are leaving electronics behind and instead, stealing jewelry.

Bruce believes they may be trying to fund a drug habit.

Police are telling residents to keep an eye out.

“A lot of times you get people that say they were going to call you; I saw a guy walking or a car parked in a strange spot that’s never been there, and they don’t call. Later on, the people come home and find out the house has been broken into,” Bruce said.

“The more eyes the better. We always tell people if you think something’s not right, call us right away.”
