ABINGTON (CBS) – A fire destroyed a multi-family home on Progress Street in Abington Monday.

A woman who lives in the home told a neighbor that she was cooking something on the stove and left the kitchen. When she came back, the kitchen was on fire.

Police closed parts of Route 123 in the area so that emergency crews could get to the scene.

The woman who was cooking was the only person in the home at the time and got out safely.

Firefighters from Norwell and Weymouth assisted crews from Abington.

There are no reports of any injuries.
