Fund Set Up To Honor Murdered UNH Student Lizzi Marriott

WESTBORO (CBS) - The family of a University of New Hampshire woman murdered in October has set up a fund in her memory.

The Lizzi Marriott Intrepid Explorer Fund will be used to raise money for scholarships for young adults looking to embrace an education and life working in marine sciences.

The fund website says preference will be given to Westboro High School graduates, volunteers at the New England Aquarium, and University of New Hampshire students studying marine sciences.

The fund has a "Night of Remembrance" planned for Jan. 26 with tickets selling for $25.

Marriott,a Westboro native, was studying marine sciences and volunteered at the New England Aquarium while in high school and college.

The 19-year-old was last seen on Oct. 9, 2012.

Seth Mazzaglia, 29, of Dover, has been charged with her murder. A second person, Kathryn McDonough of Portsmouth, has been charged in connection with the murder.

Marriott's body has yet to be found.
