BOSTON (CBS) – If you want to build a casino in Massachusetts, you have until the end of business Tuesday to hand in your application and a $400,000 non-refundable fee.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Carl Stevens reports
Then, the Massachusetts Gambling Commission will begin the process of determining who will get the permits.
“We think we can award the slots license, the single slots parlor license somewhere in Massachusetts by the end of the summer,” Commission Chairman Steve Crosby told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.
“We expect to start awarding the casino licenses by the end of this year.”
They hope to hand out all three licenses by March of 2014.
So far, the commission has received seven applications. They could get as many as 11 by 5 p.m. Tuesday.
“This is the day we’ve been waiting for for nine months,” Crosby said.
