BOSTON (CBS) – A Boston University building was evacuated late Tuesday morning because of a chemical spill.
The Boston Fire Department said about a liter of the industrial solvent decahydronaphthalene spilled on the seventh floor of the BU Life Science and Engineering building.
The spill was confined to one lab and no one was hurt, but all twelve floors of the building were cleared as a precaution.
Spring semester classes are not in session yet, but there were some graduate students and staff working in the lab.
Clean Harbors was called in to neutralize the spill and clean it up.
