A 3-alarm fire in a Dorchester apartment building sent two residents to the hospital and displaced 14 others.
DORCHESTER (CBS) – Firefighters responded to a building fire in Everett Street on Sunday afternoon.
Smoke was coming from the basement when they arrived shortly after 4 p.m., and a second alarm was called shortly thereafter.
Two residents, found on separate floors of the building, were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
The fire went to a third alarm before being put out. Authorities estimate the damage to be at $500,000.
12 adults and two children were displaced at the scene, in addition to the two adults who were hospitalized.
Investigators are still looking for a cause.
