Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant
Plymouth (CBS) – A couple of duck hunters triggered a security scare at Plymouth’s Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station on Saturday morning.
The power plant declared an Unusual Event around 9:50 a.m. over what officials determined at the time to be suspicious activity.
An Unusual Event is the lowest of four emergency classifications for nuclear power plants as defined by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Pilgrim Station says it implemented its Integrated Security Response Plan and immediately contacted state and local authorities to assist in the response.
The parties that set off the scare turned out to be a couple of duck hunters in the area.
Officials made no mention of any charges.
