BOSTON (CBS) – Hockey will be back, very soon.
While no start date is set in stone, ESPN is reporting the NHL is targeting January 19 as the day they want to start the 2013 season, which will likely consist of 48-games and the playoffs.
Training camps would tentatively start on Sunday, but that depends on the ratification of the new collective bargaining agreement.
NHL owners are expected to vote on the deal on Wednesday at the Board of Governors meeting, with the players association voting on Thursday and Friday.
The Boston Bruins were originally scheduled for a game in Montreal on the January 19, but that could change once the new schedule is released in the next week.
