Dick and Rick Hoyt with model of statue
HOPKINTON (CBS) – Dick and Rick Hoyt are Boston Marathon legends and they will soon be honored with a bronze statue.
Construction crews have started work on the statue in front of Hopkinton’s Center School, honoring the father-son team. The statue will be near the starting line of the marathon that they have crossed 30 times.
Since 1977, Dick and Rick have run more than 1,000 races together.
The sponsor of the marathon, John Hancock, is paying for the statue and hopes to have it finished by this year’s race in April.
