BOSTON (CBS) – After two months in the hospital, Boston Mayor Tom Menino is getting back to work at City Hall.

The mayor told WBZ-TV’s Kate Merrill that he feels better than he has in nine months and he is easing himself back to work.

Menino says it’s been a tough recovery, but it was made easier by all the cards and well wishes from around the city. He was stunned by the outpouring of support.

“It was the people of Boston and Massachusetts that really sent me cards and support they gave me and prayers and all that stuff,” said Menino. “I’m really gratified, I’m only the mayor.”

The mayor’s first day back at City Hall was on December 27th when he met with staff. He also held a cabinet meeting Wednesday.
