Layer Up My Friends

Bundle up, layer up, wrap yourself up! Do whatever you need to do in order to trap the heat close to your skin. It's not only cold in terms of the thermometer readings, but it's also the wind chills that have fallen below zero.

It's not record-setting though, with Boston at -1 and Worcester at-3 in 1904.

Luckily, winds will be winding down today. This is the coldest morning in Boston since January 15th of last year when we dipped down to a measly 6 degrees. With the unproductive sunshine, highs will only be between 19-25 today with the highs occurring on the Cape/Islands.

Friday will be a partly cloudy and blustery day with a few snow flakes flying across northern New England. Highs will be a little bit better as we climb above freezing into the mid-30's.

This first weekend of 2013 will be pretty quiet and more seasonable.

Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs in the low-to-mid-30's.

Sunday will have a few snow showers early in the day with partly sunny skies and highs in the low-to-mid-30's. The coldest high temps will be areas north and west of I-495.

Models are still showing promise of a warm-up that puts us into the 40's by the middle part of next week and as mild as the 50's by late-week.

Fingers crossed! :)

One Alarm Clock Away...
