Manchester, NH Police Looking For Child 'In Distress'

MANCHESTER, NH (CBS) - Police are looking for a girl believed to be around 10-years-old who was found on a city street wearing pajamas and told a passerby her family had been the victim of a crime.

Around 7 a.m. Wednesday, a woman told police she saw the child near Salmon and Elm Streets.

The girl was riding a bicycle and wearing pajamas with a winter coat.

When the woman approached the her, the child asked for help and said her family had been the victim of a crime and she was trying to find her aunt.

As the woman started dialing 911, the child abandoned her bicycle and ran away, police said.

The girl was last seen heading north on Bay Street. She is described as a white, with brown hair, wearing purple pajamas, a pink coat and carrying a blue backpack.

She abandoned a pink "Next" girls' bicycle, "buttercup" model, which police recovered at the scene.

Police are asking anyone who knows anything about the incident to contact them.
