NEW BEDFORD (CBS) – The delivery man for Guard Oil pumped the 27 gallons of home heating oil into a home Tuesday.
The only problem was, the home uses natural gas and the fill pipe was disconnected and the oil tank removed years ago.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Mike Macklin reports
The owner of the single family home returned and smelled what she thought was a gas leak.
Turns out, oil covered the basement floor of the home and left the oil company with a big mess to clean up.
Emergency crews turned off the electricity and gas to avert a possible explosion and fire.
The homeowner is taking it all in stride.
She just wants the company to clean up the mess. Guard Oil promised to do just that.
