BOSTON (CBS) – Christmas is still a week away but Santa decided to make an early visit at Shriners Hospital for Children.

Santa visited Shriners with the help of some Boston Firefighters on Tuesday.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Bernice Corpuz reports

His reindeer and sleigh are gearing up for next week’s trip so the big guy in the red suit jumped in the bucket of Ladder 3 and that’s how he made it up to the sixth and seventh floors to see the young patients waving by the window.

Dennis Costin with Boston Firefighters Burn Foundation organized the event.”When you see the looks on these kids faces, some of the children were burned severely, but what I do is I look at the kids and I see how happy they are and I turn to look at the other firefighters and it blows them away,” Costin said. “The kids get a lot out of it but nothing compares to what the firefighters get out of it.”
