BOSTON (CBS) – With five catches in the Patriots 41-34 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, New England receiver Wes Welker made some NFL history.
Welker became the first player in NFL history with five seasons of 100 or more catches, breaking a record he shared with Jerry Rice, Marvin Harrison and Brandon Marhsall.

Welker is currently third in the NFL with 100 receptions, trailing Chicago’s Marshall (107) and Detroits’ Calvin Johnson (106).

In his six seasons with the Patriots, Welker has already set the franchise record for receptions (654) and consecutive games with a reception (91).
