Christmas in the City
BOSTON (CBS) – About 4,000 homeless children and their parents received quite a Christmas celebration Sunday at the Boston Convention Center on Sunday.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Kim Tunnicliffe reports
Kids are bussed in from all around the greater Boston area to take part in the all-volunteer event.
The 24rd annual Christmas in the City event transformed the building into a winter wonderland, featuring music, food, games, rides, and a visit from Santa Claus.
Founder Jake Kennedy says the smiles on the kids’ faces makes is why he organizes the event year after year.
“To see the hard-working mothers and fathers and to see the kids having the time of their lives, it’s worth it so much,” he said.
