Brandeis Student Attacked, Possibly By A Coyote

View Comments

WALTHAM (CBS) – A student at Brandeis University is recovering from what the school is calling a possible coyote attack.

Brandeis officials say the student was walking back to her dorm around 2 a.m. on Wednesday when she heard a rustling in the bushes.

An animal jumped out and there was a confrontation. The school says because it was dark, and the attack happened so quickly, the victim didn’t get a good look at the animal.

She suffered a wound from either a scratch or a bite, which she was treated for on Wednesday.

The Waltham Patch reports that residents reported seeing a pack of coyotes in the area on Wednesday night, and that there have been a number of previous sightings.
