Wednesday’s Child: 14-Year-Old Nicole
BOSTON (CBS) – Nicole is an outgoing Caucasian girl with a great sense of humor. She enjoys most outdoor activities, especially riding bicycles, four wheelers and swimming. Nicole is hopeful about finding a family of her own, possibly one who shares her interest in outdoor activities. Nicole loves animals and would want to have pets, but she could do without if a family member were allergic.
In her spare time, 14-year-old Nicole also enjoys movies, video games and cooking. She loves to sing and dance and would like to become a singer one day. Her all-time favorite singer is Michael Jackson.
Nicole is currently living in a residential program to assist her in addressing trauma-related issues from her past. Academically, she has an Individual Educational Plan and is working on maintaining boundaries and increasing healthy relationships. Nicole states that math is her favorite subject in school.
Legally free for adoption, Nicole is ready to join a family and feel like a normal teenager. She would love to have her own room and be able to go out and enjoy the types of activities others her age would. Nicole is looking forward to talking to and learning from a nurturing and supportive mother in her life. Nicole has hard time sharing attention with younger children and would do best in a home with older teens if there were other children in the home. With good mentorship and routines, Nicole is likely to progress even further in all areas of her life.
