Inspector Back On The Job After Fall River Pool Death

FALL RIVER (CBS) - An inspector, who was fired for failing to notice a body at the bottom of a Fall River swimming pool, is back on the job.

The city was ordered to reinstate Roger Casavant and pay him for the 13 months he wasn't working.

Apparently, Casavant, the city's Sanitary Inspector, had no jurisdiction over the state-run pool.

Marie Joseph died last June and her body remained at the bottom of the cloudy pool for two days.

Casavant inspected the pool, noted the water was cloudy, but he still approved a permit even though that permit was never issued.

The Herald News reports Casavant won his appeal in August and returned to work in September.
