Fire Forces 21 People Out Of Homes In Lowell

LOWELL (CBS) – Fire damaged two Lowell apartment buildings and left 21 people homeless, including eight children.

Flames spread through the buildings on Bridge Street early Saturday morning.

Everyone managed to safely escape.

Red Cross says it’s helping the five families who were living in the buildings by providing them with supplies and emergency funds.

This is one of six fires in the area over the past six months, and officials are hoping to interview a person of interest on Monday.
