Wheaton College Students Report Their Drinks Were Drugged At Local Bar

NORTON (CBS) - Some Wheaton College students say their drinks were drugged at a local bar.

The school says several students have reported someone slipped a drug into their drinks on separate nights at The Sportsway Cafe.

Norton Police are investigating the incident.

Earlier this year, a bouncer at The Sportsway Cafe Paul Panaikas, was arrested and accused of raping a student in a closet of the bar.

In an e-mail to students, Norton College told students if they do choose to drink to follow safety precautions such as not sharing drinks, keep an eye on your drink, don't drink from punch bowls or other large, common, open containers and to open your own containers.

If you have any information about the drugged drinks, please contact Public Safety (x8213) or the Norton Police at 508-285-3300.
